A lifelong Canby resident, Charlie served in the U.S. Navy and earned a degree from the University of Colorado Charlie is a registered Petroleum Engineer who retired from NW Natural after 32 years of service. Charlie provides consulting services to the natural gas industry. Active in Canby Rotary and the Canby Educational Foundation, Charlie and his wife, Denise, attend Canby Alliance Church.

Janel is a longtime resident of Canby where 5 generations of her family have attended Canby Schools. Professionally, Janel worked for the Oregon Department of Human Services as Human Resource Analyst. She is passionate about feeding hungry kids and is an active volunteer in the Backpack Buddies program. She attends Canby Christian Church and serves as ministry head for Funeral Receptions.

John earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and worked for 15 years in energy service. He retired after 23 years as Director of Environmental Health & Radiation Safety at OHSU. Since then, John assisted Portland Public Schools with the creation, passing, and implementation of a $150M health and safety capital bond. John and his, Lynn, raised their children in Canby, are proud grandparents, and attend Oregon City Church of Christ.

Born and raised in Walla Walla, WA, Dan attend Lewis & Clark College and Willamette University College of Law. Dan and his wife, Christine, moved to Canby in 1999 and raised their family. Commercial real estate, development projects, and photography keep Dan out of trouble. Otherwise, he can be found fishing on the Northwest’s beautiful rivers or backpacking in the remote alpine wilderness of Eastern Oregon and Northern Washington.

A Canby native and Canby High graduate, Angie is the principal of Trost Elementary School in Canby, an innovative Dual Language Immersion school. In addition to serving the neighborhood, Trost's K-6 program is open to all students across the Canby School District.  Angie and her husband, Jesus, are delighted to have raised their children in Canby.

A Willamette Valley native, Dan met his future wife, Barbara, in elementary school.  After working in environmental chemistry and microbiology, he joined the faculty of Clackamas Community College's Water and Environmental Technology Program. Dan loves living in Canby and serving at the church that he and Barbara attend.

For more than twenty years, John and his wife, Monaree, have called Canby home. In his years as an Army officer, John served in Germany, Korea, and West Point. He has worked in financial services and run a consulting office as well. He has experience in organizational effectiveness and has helped numerous organizations improve over time. John and Monaree attend New Life Canby Foursquare.

The Cutsforth family has deep roots in Canby through generations of generosity and service.  Brooks has extensive experience in property development and management. Brooks and his wife, Tanika, are raising their family in Canby.

Moving from Colorado in 1990, Laurie and her husband, Brian raised their family in Canby. Laurie has served the community through church events and volunteering at both 91 School and Canby High School, and served 10 years on the Canby Educational Foundation. She raises St Croix Hair Sheep and working with FFA students.

Ray has served in positions of increasing responsibility at Multnomah University, Arrow Leadership, SMART – Start Making A Reader Today, and Birch Community Services. Ray is one of 7,700 Certified Fund Raising Executives in the world, has a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University, a degree in Speech Communication and Biblical Theology from Multnomah University and Masters in Business Administration from The University of Portland. Ray and is wife, Rachel, enjoy camping and playing in the snow with their three children.

Mark has two decades of cross-cultural work experience and is passionate about strategies that enrich people’s lives. He earned a Masters degree in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is married to his high school sweetheart, Ashley. After leading a team and multi-million dollar campus expansion in Cambodia, Mark served as a pastor in Canby. Mark enjoys being with his wife and three kids for outdoor activities including camping, biking, road trips, and working on projects around their home.

Brooke earned a degree of Applied Science and an Applied Leadership Certificate from Boise State University. Brooke has extensive experience leading church camps, vacation bible schools, and children's and youth ministry programs. Known for her playful and adventurous spirit, Brooke enjoys playing music, crafting, trying new recipes, playing sports and games, participating in a variety of outdoor activities, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Mimi offers a warm welcome to each person we serve. Her prior work in banking lends an eye for detail and personal responsibility that is invaluable to the youth and families she serves in tangible ways every day. Mimi has held a variety of leadership role in her church community and spends her free time going on walks and other outdoor adventures with her son, Matteo. Mimi feels very blessed by her work and being part of a family who serves the Lord with all their hearts.

Steve began volunteering at The Canby Center in 2021, giving back over 300 hours to the community. Quickly becoming an indispensable member of the team, he joined officially in 2022. Steve’s extensive experience in warehouse management makes him an ideal trainer in safe equipment operation. Bold, kind, and charismatic, Steve leads diverse teams of volunteers with unwavering dedication to service above self. Steve and his wife, Linda, live in Canby.

Steve is a skilled storyteller and has held account management and business development roles with multi-national retailers. With over fifteen years of operations management experience, Steve is an excellent connecter. He earned a Masters degree in Business Administration from The University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Biola University.  Steve and his wife, Nancy, are active in leadership roles in their church, and enjoy spending time with family, kayaking, and live music.

She earned a Bachelor of Science from California State University Long Beach in Sociology with an emphasis in Group Relations. With over five years of business marketing experience, Christina's ability to lead teams and execute plans enables her persistent and creative work to help others. She enjoys having new experiences and spending time with husband, Ulises, and their two dogs.

From 2021 to 2023, Hannah managed a successful $8M capital campaign for The Canby Center's expansion. Her prior work with World Venture equipped young adults for global outreach. Hannah is passionate about seeing individuals transformed in relationships with Christ. and community.

Izaak earned a Bachelor of Arts from Linfield University. He has had the opportunity to work alongside several non-profit organizations, assisting with both fundraising efforts and media relations. With the rapid growth of The Canby Center, Izaak is excited to have an impact on the upcoming expansion and assist the organization in the pursuit of its mission. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, fishing, and playing golf with friends and family.

Joy earned a Bachelor of Science in Educational Ministries and Biblical Theology from Multnomah University and a Masters in Business Administration (Nonprofit Management emphasis) from The University of Portland. Joy's history of service encompasses church ministries to children and families, nonprofits and small business settings. She Passionate to be a voice for the voiceless and seeing mercy triumph over judgment. Joy enjoys time with family and friends, exploring new destinations, and watching gardens grow.

She earned a degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from North Park University and is pursuing a Masters from Portland Seminary. Experienced working with young people and teams in a cross-cultural setting, Roberta loves learning languages and experiencing new cultures through music, food, customs and authentic relationships. She enjoys time at the beach and camping with her husband, Joel, and step-daughter.

Macaela has flourished in diverse roles including nonprofit event management and corporate account management. Her eye for detail has helped transform challenges into achievements for youth leaders, national organizations, and large companies. She grew up in Canby and will soon graduate from Portland State University with a degree in Urban and Public Affairs (minor in Communication). Macaela delights in fresh flowers, paddleboarding, and keeping up with her many nieces and nephews.

Jessica has over 14 years of experience in facilities operations and thrives in implementation and relationship building. Her determination has allowed her to build a career in maintenance, safety, and project management. Her love for Canby resonates as she also holds multiple volunteer board positions in the community. Jessica recharges by reading with a cup of coffee in hand or traveling to a beach location with her husband, Shawn, and their two daughters.
